“Growing through our people” is one of the Grant Thornton growth strategies. Since the development of professionals in our organization is crucial for us and given our aim of creating a more inclusive working environment, starting from 1 May 2019, Grant Thornton Italy has a new function, called “People Hub”, which includes four interdependent and synergic focus areas aimed at building and developing technical and soft skills.
- People & Culture: this function is dedicated to the promotion and development of the network core values throughout our organization, to recruiting (even through our direct contact with students and our participation in university Career Days), to employer branding, to the management of human resources and to the evaluation of individual performances;
- D&I: a committee created on the occasion of the Grant Thornton International “Diversity & Inclusion Conference” held last March in Rome, which saw the participation of the Global CEO Peter Bodin and which had the purpose of taking actions to implement real diversity policies and make inclusion a growth diver, generating better performances;
- Training: a working group planning and coordinating a two-year professional update and training programme, which consists in both general overviews and the treatment of technical topics, and is dedicated to both young consultants and to experienced senior professionals;
- People Voice: a committee dedicated to the analysis of the issues arisen from a biennial questionnaire, which collects the opinions of the people working in our organization to identify any areas of improvement.
The operating strategy of the “People Hub” will be presented at the Grant Thornton Italy Annual Partners’ Meeting, which will take place in Trento from 29 to 31 May 2019. In the same skill-development perspective, an initiative called “Create your future” has been implemented since the first months of 2019.
This is an inclusion and discussion occasion providing monthly meetings between Partners and Principals, Senior Managers and Managers of the different entities that are part of Grant Thornton in Italy, with the aim of focusing on growth targets and possibilities. Four meetings have already been held, which will be followed by meetings with major personalities in the world of economy and business leaders.
