The prize-giving ceremony of the 1st edition of the “Open Innovative PMI” award will take place on 16 November 2017 in Rome. The award is the first Italian acknowledgment dedicated to innovative SMEs, conceived and promoted by Bernoni Grant Thornton.

The initiative met with great success as concerns the high number and level of applicant companies, thus demonstrating that the world of SMEs, despite being not much known, is characterized by a great dynamism and boost to innovation.

The award was realized in collaboration with important institutional sponsors: the Ministry of Economic Development, the Department for European Policy of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the National Research Council, the Italian association of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt (AIFI), the Italian association of CFOs (ANDAF), the Italian Network of Scientific and Technological Parks (APSTI), and the Conference of rectors of Italian universities (CRUI).

This first edition comprises the following award categories:

  • SMEs research and technology;
  • SMEs and European and foreign markets;
  • SMEs and women.

For each category, the independent Jury will select six finalists and, among these, the winner.

Bernoni Grant Thornton will provide the winners in each category with professional services being worth 10,000 Euro.

The prize-giving ceremony on 16 November will be preceded by a conference organized, by Bernoni Grant Thornton, with exponents of institutions, of the university and research as well as business environment.

The central topic of discussion will be innovation, particularly in relation to the “Industry 4.0” government plan, with a specific focus on digital transformation.

Both the Award and the Conference are part of the wider “Open Innovative PMI” project, which also includes other initiatives, i.e. an Observatory, an Academy, and an Incubator.
