New book on associated professional firms

Giuseppe Bernoni Giuseppe Bernoni

The second edition of the book dedicated to associated professional firms “Professionisti & Studi, associarsi per competere” is now available in bookshops and online. The book was written by Giuseppe Bernoni, founder and Managing Partner of Bernoni Grant Thornton, together with the journalist Ignazio Marino.

Intellectual professions are facing major economic and social changes (in addition, of course, to the economic downturn). The new century saw the rise of globalisation, of emerging industrial powerhouses (China, India, Brazil, followed by Russia, South Africa, Vietnam, Venezuela, Turkey, Poland, etc.), as well as the introduction of new organisational models for the “professional firm”, whose origins can be traced back to the 1960s in the US.

All this requires a renewal of the profession under many points of view: from a transition from firms with a single professional to associated firms (or professional companies), to the provision of new services, i.e. new consultancy fields which are still little analysed, but which professionals need to grow familiar with in order to be able to proactively address the evolving needs of companies.

The updated edition of the book by Giuseppe Bernoni provides an in-depth analysis of this scenario characterised by a strong need for innovation. The author describes the current situation of various professions, i.e. chartered accountants, attorneys and labour consultants, highlights the relevant organisational and functional needs and provides a useful toolkit for professionals interested in competing in an ever-demanding market.

This is a topical issue, treated in a simple and rigorous way, with the awareness that current professions need to promptly address the needs of a large and demanding public to be taken into due consideration in the current industrial society.

The volume is available in specialised bookshops and online at this link.
